Download the New for Windows Pixologic ZBrush 2023.2

Maxon has been busy behind the scenes, and it's finally showing off some exciting new features in its industry-standard digital sculpting software, Pixologic ZBrush. The company recently unveiled two separate builds of ZBrush during the ZBrush Summit livestream, giving fans a sneak peek at what's to come.

The first build was Beta 3 of ZBrush 2023, which features an overhaul of ZRemesher, the retopology toolset that helps artists create smooth and efficient mesh models. ZRemesher has been improved to be faster and more controllable than ever before, making it easier for users to achieve the desired results.

But what's even more significant is that these new features will not be available for free to existing perpetual license holders. Maxon has announced that ZBrush 2022.0.6, the current release, will be the final free update for those with perpetual licenses. This means that users who want access to the latest and greatest features will need to upgrade to a subscription-based model.

The acquisition of Pixologic's assets by Maxon was completed in January, which has allowed the company to focus on developing new features for ZBrush. The last major public release of the software was ZBrush 2022, which is an unusually long time between updates for ZBrush standards.

During the ZBrush Summit livestream, Maxon showed off a beta build of ZBrush 2023 featuring updates to its masking system and ZRemesher retopology toolset. The company also demonstrated a separate build that integrates the Redshift renderer, which is a powerful rendering engine that allows for high-quality images and animations.

While Maxon hasn't confirmed whether all of the new features will be included in the public release of ZBrush 2023 or when the next release will be available, it did hint that the public beta might be released in the New Year. Fans of ZBrush are eagerly awaiting more information on what's to come and how they can get their hands on the latest updates.
